Clay Shooting
Dovey Valley Shooting Ground is set in its own wooded valley near the coast in Central Wales, featuring a large sporting layout with over 100 different variations offering targets to suit everyone from a complete beginner to the most experienced shooter. As well as Sporting we have Automatic Ball Trap, Skeet and Down The Line trap shooting available for our customers to practice a variety of disciplines. Looking for an activity in Wales or simply fancy ‘Having a Go’ at clay pigeon shotgun shooting, then look no further. These packages are designed for an enjoyable session with full instruction for companies, groups of friends, family members, stag & hen parties.
With packages from 25 to 50 clays, you can enjoy shooting as much as you wish, for as long as you wish.
All shooters are accompanied by an instructor, so booking is recommended to avoid disappointment. A shotgun certificate is not required.
These packages include; instruction, clays, cartridges, gun hire & all safety equipment.
Simulated Game Shooting
We have the privilege of Exclusive rights to the Brynmelin Estate, this is a very full intense fun day for the experienced shot. The day is very similar to a game day consisting of a number of drives in the picturesque Welsh mountains. We offer a wide range of targets which simulate the birds in truly realistic conditions.
With up to teams of 5 shooting at any one time, with a minimum of 6 guns for the day, guests can expect to see several thousand clays flush over them during the course of the day. An individual would expect to shoot 200+ cartridges. Head, ear and eye protection are strongly recommended along with a shooting glove or sleeve.
A visit can be tailored to suit your requirements with as many drives as required up to a full day’s shoot. Simulated Game is for experienced shooters but tuition and loan guns can also be supplied as an optional extra – but this must be requested at the time of booking.
Shooting Lessons
Looking to try out something new, brush-up your old skills or improve your technique? We offer a shooting school of dedicated professional instructors, incorporating some of the most experienced game shots as well as world-class Olympic clay shots
Tuition is available for both clay and game shooters looking to sharpen skills and improve their score, whether sharpening up your skills for the season or introducing friends and family to the sport. Complete beginners are welcome and will receive first class tuition plus all the necessary equipment – a shotgun certificate is NOT required.

Young Shots
By popular demand, our shooting school also caters for those friends or family hoping to experience this exciting pastime. Complete beginners are particularly welcome and will receive first class tuition plus all the equipment necessary.
Or perhaps you’ve grown up around this fantastic sport, and looking to improve your skills; tuition is available for all levels.
All lessons include gun hire and safety equipment, but exclude clays and cartridges (unless stated otherwise).
Caddied Rounds
We provide escorted shooting rounds for the experienced shooters who want to focus solely on their shooting. Accompanied by a caddie who knows the grounds inside and out, they can tailor your visit to the disciplines you’re here to practice.
There are over 100 possible stands available including high towers, crosser to DTL. Our caddies can also tailor the session to suit levels of shooting and between game or clay oriented.
Our Caddied Rounds are for Shotgun Certificate holders only and appointments are required. Cost excludes cartridges.
